Gadhimai – not only blood

Gadhimai is a Hindu festival that takes place every five years in Bariyarpur, in southern Nepal. Millions of believers come to the festival.

The culmination of the festival is the ritual slaughtering of buffalos whose heads will be sacrificed to Gadhimai – a goddess of power.

The festival is conducive to entertainment – it is possible to have fun in one of several amusement parks, circus and even in a club with girls show – restricted to adults.
